I’ve scribbled in notebooks for as long as I can remember and have been publishing for over 25 years.  Initially, in the spare technical prose of project reports, later precise exposition in theses and academic journals

When my PhD supervisor told me that my submission read more like a thriller than a thesis, I realised it was time to change gear.

I write for the love of it but there are projects which I think one day will get finished enough to publish: some poems, a memoire called ‘The Girl who Loved Roads’ and a comedy based on my lovely mom.’

The transition from academic writing to prose which can be savoured has been supported by the Life Writing Collective,  well known journalist, Cathy Eden and a bevy of writerly friends.

If there’s a book that you want to read, but it hasn’t been written yet, then you must write it.
